Commissioner invests over £90,000 of seized criminal cash into Lancashire communities

Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw, has invested £90,638 of money seized from criminals into 13 community organisations, supporting projects that will prevent crime, tackle anti-social behaviour, and protect vulnerable people across the county.

The latest round of the Commissioner’s Community Fund will support a range of initiatives delivered by local charities, community groups, councils and partners. Projects focus on key priorities within the Police and Crime Plan, including youth diversion, tackling anti-social behaviour, supporting vulnerable communities, and preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Schemes funded in this round include targeted diversionary activities for young people, community safety projects, and specialist support and awareness programmes designed to reduce harm and build stronger, safer neighbourhoods.

A number of projects will provide safe, positive opportunities for young people during periods of increased risk, helping to steer them away from crime and anti-social behaviour. Others focus on raising awareness of domestic abuse, supporting victims, improving community resilience, and preventing harmful behaviours before they escalate.

Community-led initiatives funded in this round include sports and mentoring programmes, youth engagement activities, outreach work, creative projects, and campaigns to improve online and community safety. Several schemes will also help strengthen relationships between local communities and policing teams, building trust and confidence while addressing issues that matter most to residents.

The investment also includes partnership funding delivered through local organisations and community networks, recognising the important role of local leadership in identifying and tackling neighbourhood concerns.
